At Tim’s Bakery Dublin, we’ve always believed that bread tells a story. And now, that story is being told on screen — in one of the most ambitious historical dramas of the decade.
After working with major productions like Netflix, MGM, and other global studios, we’re thrilled to announce our latest collaboration: the upcoming Vikings TV series — Bloodaxe.
This isn’t just a cameo. It’s a full-scale partnership where our bakery becomes part of the cinematic world — both behind the scenes and on the set.
Bread as Set Design
One of the most unique parts of our work with Bloodaxe is creating custom bread props for set decoration. The production team sends us reference photos — sometimes sketches, sometimes historical images — and we recreate authentic Viking-era breads that look like they’ve come straight from a 10th-century hearth.
These aren’t just loaves. They’re visual storytelling tools. Our breads appear in feast scenes, market stalls, and battle camp tables — adding texture, realism, and depth to the Viking world.
And yes, they’re all handmade from scratch, using traditional techniques and natural ingredients. No preservatives. No artificial colours. Just flour, water, salt, and fire.
Feeding the Cast & Crew
Beyond the props, we also supply on-set catering for the production. That means early-morning deliveries, hearty lunches, and sweet treats to keep the cast and crew fueled through long shooting days.
Our catering menu is tailored to the needs of the production — from rustic breads and pastries to energy-packed snacks and warm comfort food. It’s artisan baking, scaled for a cinematic battlefield.
